Sky Digital Cams useable with new viewing cards

Hi,

sorry for writing in English!

Would anyone know of any CAMs that can be used with the new viewing cards provided by Sky Digital, they are being sent out to customers in the UK, and this means that a lot of us are not able to view Sky on our HTPCs anymore :-(

The problem is... who can know what kind of card have you?
   
Sky in Italy has introduced new NDS2 card with serial number beginning with 0002, specifically for new HD channels.
With the Diablo CAM with appropriate firmware (and a few small problems) card work!

As Vincent said before, first of all, we should know what do you mean by "new Sky Digital card". Is this conected to a different kind of encryption language? Maybe NDS3? The actual situation, in Italy, is: 2 types of card, the one with 001xxx serial and the other with 002xxx serial (this second with NDS3 encryption). Actually, the only CAM able to "read" 002xxx card is DIABLO CAM, with HORIZON firmware load in (another firmware exists, but it appears less stable than the one I suggest you above).

The new sky viewing card, unfortunately no longer works in my Dragon CAM - there are no details regarding the encryption method on the card this time, however the serial number starts M0012.... is thats any use.

I don't receive any HD channels from Sky, however the cards are too new to be able to pattern spot how the serial numbers are sequenced, and whether the same is true as in Italy.

As you probably know, underworld firmware has to be updated montly, otherwise it stops decoding. Instead, Horizon 1.0, never stops working..

Unfortunately, I don't have any other answer for you, but I have a question: is this new card provided to every user, in substitution to the older one, or just for new Sky TV subscription?

Hi,

thanks for coming back to me - the card is provided to every user that receives paid for tv services - we have freesat here in the UK, for which you just pay for a card - I don't think these are being replaced, but anyone that pays a monthly fee to Sky is having their cards replaced.

Hello Tony, i dont have a card to check now, but i think to remember the coding system should be wrote with the serial and the rest on the back of the card....in the Italian series at least.

I mean...i'm sure there is something about NDS not sure about the version..
